Job summary

Atlas is seeking a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Technician to join our team in St. Louis, Missouri. You will work with seasoned professionals performing field tests, QC, and reporting on infrastructure projects across the Midwest.

You will gain hands-on field experience, learn to operate specialty equipment, and pursue industry certifications as you advance. This full‑time on‑site role offers safety training, career growth, and a supportive team environment with a commitment to quality

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• 2+ years of construction or Construction Materials Testing (CMT) experience is a plus.
• Willingness to learn and work any shift as needed.
• Certifications such as APNGA Nuclear Certification, ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician I, OSHA 10‑Hour Construction are preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform construction‑related field tests as directed by the CMT Manager and Senior Engineer.
• Travel to construction sites across the Midwest, with potential overnight or weekend work.
• Relay field information to the Project Manager and Engineer; participate in in‑field decision making.
• Transport equipment, test specimens, and documents to field personnel, laboratories, clients, or offices.
• Enter daily field observation and summary reports electronically.
• Perform field QC testing of in‑place concrete and field density testing on soils, concrete, and asphalt.
• Assist other technicians and professional staff with project tasks.

Atlas is seeking CMT Technicians to join our team in St. Louis, Missouri. In this role, you will be part of seasoned, highly qualified teams that perform construction materials testing and inspection on complex and transformational infrastructure projects throughout the region. You will gain hands‑on experience working in the field while helping ensure construction materials and practices meet project plans, specifications, and quality standards. Core Responsibilities

• Perform construction‑related field tests as directed by the Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Manager and Senior Engineer.
• Travel to various construction sites, primarily throughout the Midwest, with the potential for overnight and/or weekend travel as needed.
• Relay field information to the Project Manager and/or Engineer, with limited in‑field decision‑making.
• Transport equipment, test specimens, and/or documents to field personnel, laboratories, clients, or other offices.
• Provide physical assistance with equipment setup and preparation at project sites.
• Enter daily field observation reports and summary reports electronically.
• Perform field quality control testing of in‑place concrete.
• Perform field density testing on soil, concrete, asphalt, and other construction materials.
• Assist other technicians and professional staff with project‑related tasks.
• Support other departments as necessary.
• Follow Atlas safety plans, programs, policies, and procedures

You’ll thrive here if you have

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• 2+ years of construction or Construction Materials Testing (CMT) experience is a plus.
• Willingness to learn and work any shift as needed.
• Ability to work toward and achieve industry‑required certifications, such as:
  • APNGA Nuclear Certification
  • American Concrete Institute (ACI) Concrete Field Testing Technician, Grade I
  • OSHA 10‑Hour Construction
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to learn and operate specialty equipment.
• Strong responsiveness, reliability, and accountability.
• Materials laboratory, geotechnical drilling, or soils‑related experience is a plus.
• One or more relevant certifications, such as ICC, NICET, NETTCP, or CWI, are preferred but not required.
