Actalent is seeking a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Technician for Topeka, KS. The role combines field and laboratory testing of soils, concrete, aggregates, and asphalt on diverse projects with emphasis on safety and quality documentation.

Ideal candidates have 0–3 years of CMT experience, strong reporting skills, and a willingness to work early mornings, overtime, and weekends as project demands require.

Qualifications

• Must have basic computer skills for preparing reports and data entry.
• Strong written and verbal communication for reporting field results.
• Willingness to work in outdoor, variable weather on active construction sites.

Responsibilities

• Perform field testing and inspection of construction materials such as soil density, concrete, aggregate, and asphalt.
• Observe and document construction activities to ensure compliance with specs and standards.
• Prepare field reports, logs, and test documentation for projects.
• Collect samples and transport them to the lab for testing.
• Operate and maintain field and lab testing equipment per procedures.
• Identify non-conforming materials and communicate issues to project managers and engineers.
