ECS Group of Companies is seeking a Construction Materials Testing Assistant Team Leader for our McKinney team. This role blends field supervision with office coordination, including scheduling, equipment management, and project support. You will mentor technicians, ensure safety, and maintain strong client communication.

The position emphasizes leadership in field operations, adherence to testing standards, and collaboration with project managers to meet deadlines and quality expectations.

Qualifications

• 3 years of related experience
• High school diploma or GED
• Maintain basic certifications and any advanced certifications per ECS policy
• Valid driver's license if driving for ECS
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to lift a minimum of 85 pounds
• Knowledge of construction materials testing principles
• Proficiency with electronic devices

Responsibilities

• Assist with management and coordination of field staff
• Support scheduling and staffing of technicians for projects
• Mentor and train field technicians to ensure competency
• Promote safety culture and PPE use
• Assist with safety training and compliance
• Perform field testing, observation, and inspection as needed
• Communicate daily with technicians, project managers, and contractors
• Assist calibrations and maintenance of field equipment
• Support inventory management for equipment and supplies
• Assist with recruiting and staffing to maintain team levels
• Review and support field documentation and reporting accuracy
• Provide support to Project Managers and Department leadership
• Attend project meetings and support field coordination
• May assist with business development and client interaction
