Job summary

Solomon Page is seeking a Content Designer for a NYC pet-insurance client on a full-time contract. The role focuses on shaping and implementing a scalable CMS that underpins content creation, governance, and AI-enabled workflows.

You will partner with product, design, technology, and other stakeholders to define requirements, build reusable content models, templates, taxonomies, and metadata, and ensure clear UX writing.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in content design, content strategy, UX writing, content systems, or related discipline.
• Hands-on experience implementing, redesigning, migrating, or establishing a CMS or enterprise content system.
• Strong understanding of CMS architecture, content modeling, structured content, taxonomies, metadata, workflows, and governance.
• Experience working across various CMS platforms.
• Proven ability to turn complex or fragmented content into clear, structured, reusable systems.
• Strong UX writing and content design skills and impact on user experiences.
• Experience collaborating with product, UX/design, engineering, technology, and business stakeholders.
• Experience evaluating CMS solutions and sizing to organizational needs.
• Experience in smaller organizations/startups building systems from the ground up.
• Experience in regulated industries (financial services, healthcare, etc.) preferred.
• Understanding of content governance and scalable quality processes.
• Ability to work strategically and in detail across content structures and implementations.
• Comfort with ambiguity and defining problems and solutions.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management to explain complex concepts.
• Experience with AI, generative AI, agentic systems, or AI-enabled content workflows a plus.
• Familiarity with how structured content supports AI applications and agentic workflows.

Responsibilities

• Assess current content, workflows, tools, and processes to identify opportunities for a scalable content system.
• Evaluate CMS and content management approaches and recommend a right-sized solution.
• Partner with product, design, technology, and business stakeholders to define requirements and guide CMS implementation.
• Structure and organize content to be modular, reusable, discoverable, and adaptable across channels.
• Establish reusable content models, patterns, templates, taxonomies, metadata, and content structures for scale.
• Develop content governance frameworks, standards, workflows, and processes.
• Apply content design and UX writing to ensure clear, user-centered experiences.
• Define how content should be created, managed, reviewed, and retired within the CMS.
• Identify opportunities to streamline content operations and reduce duplication.
• Collaborate with technical teams to translate content requirements into CMS architecture and components.
• Help establish content infrastructure and governance for future AI and agentic applications.
• Explore how structured content supports AI systems and retrieval.
• Partner with AI/tech teams to ensure content supports machine-assisted experiences.
• Create documentation, guidelines, and governance models for organization-wide adoption.
• Lead change management and enablement for new content processes and tools.
• Balance near-term needs with long-term scalability.
