Crazy Mountain Ranch in Clyde Park, MT is seeking a Seasonal Full Time Wrangler to handle ranch work, guest services and riding. The role requires confident riding and strong people skills as wranglers will be guest-facing daily.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Legging up guest horses for winter season with groundwork and arena work.
• Putting hours on up-and-coming guest horses.
• Safely taking guests on trail rides and cattle drives.
• Driving teams/wagons for guest events.
• Fencing projects: building and maintenance.
• Ranch projects to keep operations running smoothly.
• Cow work: trailing, gathering, sorting, branding.
• Riding skills are absolutely necessary; be able to ride confidently.
• Be teachable and adaptable in a dynamic ranch environment.
• General familiarity and handiness in ranch tasks.
• Physically fit for long days in a physical environment.

Seasonal Full Time Crazy Mountain Ranch, Clyde Park, MT, US

The Club at Crazy Mountain Ranch is a private membership experience set on 18,000 extraordinary acres in the state of Montana. Take one part working ranch, combine with golf, lodging, great food, and drink plus everything else there is to see and do and you've got something beyond special.

The Wrangler position includes all aspects of regular ranch work, as well as guest services and RIDING! This is a riding position, please have the confidence and necessary riding skills this position requires. The ideal candidate should have strong people skills, as wranglers will be guest-facing throughout the season. Every day is different at the ranch, must be adaptive and take direction well. We are a team, as such the position requires working together with coworkers and other ranch personnel effectively and with a good attitude. If you can't show up on time, this is not the job for you. If you love the mountains, the outdoors, and a challenging, fun ranch environment, this is for you.

Meals included on the days you are scheduled to work: breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Job Duties:

• Legging up guest horses for winter season; includes groundwork, arena work and riding out

• Safely taking guests out on trail rides and cattle drives
• Driving teams/wagons for various guest events
• Fencing projects: building as well as repair and maintenance of current fences
• Various ranch projects as needed to keep our operation running smoothly
• Cow work: trailing, gathering, sorting, branding, etc.
• Riding skills are absolutely necessary. Must be able to walk/trot/lope confidently, know leads, how to post, do basic groundwork and work safely around horses
• Be teachable!
• General familiarity and handiness in ranch tasks
• Physically fit enough to put in long days in a physical work environment
• Flexibility and adaptability - every day is different at the ranch

Preferred Skills:

• Some cow knowledge and experience
• Ability to drive a truck/trailer safely and competently
• Experience on UTVs/ATVs, tractors, skid steers and other farm equipment
• Experience driving draft teams
• Basic veterinary care of horses
• Teaching riding lessons to children and/or adults

Qualifications:
