Job summary

Micron Technology, Inc in Boise, Idaho seeks a Senior CMP Process Engineer to start up, develop, and optimize chemical-mechanical planarization processes that enhance product quality, yield, and cost efficiency. You will work closely with equipment and integration engineers and manage projects to close yield gaps.

The role requires 2+ years in CMP, a engineering degree, and willingness to travel internationally for onboarding and training.

Job description

Senior CMP (Chemical Mechanical Planarization) Process Engineer – responsible for starting up, developing, and optimizing processes to improve product quality, enhance process yield, reduce costs, and solve manufacturing line issues. The role involves close collaboration with equipment and integration engineers, project management to close yield gaps, and continuous improvement across SPC charts.

Responsibilities

• Strong process area knowledge.
• DRAM development and manufacturing experience.
• Collaborate with equipment and integration engineers to identify and resolve production issues.
• Use project management skills to complete project milestones that close yield, defectivity, production, and cost gaps.
• Drive improvements across all SPC (statistical process control) charts that you own.

Minimum Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of industry experience working as Process Owner within CMP.
• BS or Masters in Engineering, equivalent military experience, or AAS with 5+ years in industry.
• Willingness to travel internationally for onboarding and training.
• Good understanding of Agentic AI or willingness to learn Agentic AI to develop efficient workflows.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong understanding of semiconductor fabrication processes and equipment.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with a meticulous approach.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Proficiency in data science and programming.
