Job summary

City Utilities of Springfield seeks an intern to assist CMMS data validation and asset management in Power Station Operations. You will help develop asset hierarchies, verify records, and support data governance under supervision.

Applicants must be enrolled full-time in a degree program (Mechatronics AAS or related). The position is on-site, 20–25 hours/week during school terms and 40 hours/week in summer, up to 1500 hours per year.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent and enrolled in Mechatronics Associate Degree.
• Pursuing related field with interest in asset management and CMMS.
• Experience in industrial/manufacturing setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in development, validation, and maintenance of asset hierarchies for a new CMMS.
• Assists in verifying physical plant assets against CMMS, engineering docs and LOTO data.
• Supports reconciliation and mapping of asset information between legacy CMMS, LOTO, and new CMMS.
• Reviews asset data for accuracy and completeness and helps identify duplicates or missing records.
• Assists SMEs in asset validation activities, coordinating field walkdowns and documenting findings.
• Assists in collecting and entering asset data, including descriptions, locations, classifications, and safety attributes.
• Assists in documenting asset naming conventions, hierarchy standards, and data governance for CMMS.
• Assists in preparing documentation related to asset verification and data quality.
• Provides administrative and technical support to the CMMS project team, including meeting support.
• Follows safety procedures and assists in maintaining awareness of LOTO requirements related to asset records.
• Performs other related duties as required or assigned by management.
