Job summary

WR Engineering seeks a CMM Technician for its Denver laboratory to operate, set up and program Coordinate Measuring Machines. You will use 3D vision systems and hand tools to inspect components against blueprints and tolerances, interpreting GD&T to identify discrepancies.

Candidates should understand X/Y/Z axes, datums, and coordinate systems, with an associate degree or technical qualification and at least one year of relevant experience. Laboratory duties apply.

Qualifications

• Experience operating or programming CMM equipment.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and interpret GD&T.
• Understanding of X, Y and Z axes, vectors and coordinate systems.
• Knowledge of 3-2-1 alignments, datums, offset planes and translated origins.
• Associate degree or technical qualification with at least one year of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate, set up and program Coordinate Measuring Machines.
• Use 3D vision systems, single-axis measuring equipment and hand tools.
• Inspect components against blueprints, dimensions and tolerances.
• Interpret GD&T symbols and identify measurement discrepancies.
• Establish efficient part setups, alignments, datums and origins.
• Accurately record and report inspection results.
