Job summary

Valmet is seeking a CMM Technician in Shrewsbury, MA to ensure parts meet dimensional specifications using CMMs. You will develop programs in PC-DMIS or FARO CAM2, measure with verniers and micrometers, and perform PMI and visual inspections to uphold quality.

We seek 4+ years of CMM experience, ability to read GD&T, and proficiency with precision instruments. This role is on-site in Shrewsbury with strong teamwork in the Metrology department.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent from a relevant field or 4+ years of CMM Inspector/Programmer experience.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Ability to use precision measuring instruments including verniers, micrometers and thread gauges.

Responsibilities

• Develop, execute, and maintain CMM programs using PC-DMIS or FARO CAM2.

• Perform visual inspections and PMI, review documentation for standards compliance.

Measure parts using equipment such as verniers, micrometers, thread gages, and optical/digital comparators. Additional inspection tasks: visual inspections, PMI (Positive Material Identification), and review documentation to ensure compliance with standards. Document inspection results. Verify Operator’s measurements and aid in providing the proper inspection tools to the shop floor. Other tasks assigned by the supervisor.
