Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a CMM Programmer for the Starship program on the 2nd shift in Hawthorne, CA. You will perform precision inspections, interpret GD&T, and manage CMM programs with PC-DMIS on Romer Arm systems.

You will collaborate with cross functional teams to improve inspection processes, develop part inspection plans, and propose drawing changes to enhance manufacturability. A high school diploma and 2+ years in CMM programming are required.

Qualifications

2+ years of CMM programming experience.
High school diploma or equivalency certificate.

Responsibilities

Perform precision inspection (CMM or surface plate) verification on mechanical parts, components, assemblies and materials.
Understand GD&T requirements as applied to the engineering drawing and drawing notes.
Spot interpretation issues as applied to dimensions written or evaluation to requirements.
Select and utilize standard gauges to ensure quality; inspect tolerances with the appropriate tool.
Work with cross functional teams to improve processes and specifications for precision inspection.
Create, maintain, verify, retain, sort and organize all programs with current revision control.
Assist engineering with making part inspection plans and identifying GD&T issues.
Make or offer suggestions on drawing changes to improve manufacturability.
