Job summary

Goodwin Recruiting is seeking a skilled CMM Programmer/Operator for a Fort Wayne precision shop. You will program, set up, and operate a 2020 Hexagon Global S Green CMM and run PC-DMIS inspection programs on high-precision, low-volume aerospace components.

You’ll read blueprints and GD&T callouts, verify 0.0002 inch tolerances, calibrate equipment, and collaborate with machinists and engineers to uphold exacting quality. First shift, full-time with strong benefits.

Qualifications

• Five+ years in dimensional inspection
• Experience programming, setting up, and operating CMM equipment
• Knowledge of PC-DMIS software
• Strong blueprint-reading and GD&T interpretation
• Experience inspecting tight-tolerance machined components
• Proficiency with manual precision measurement tools
• Identify, document, and communicate quality issues
• Independent work capability
• Lift up to 50 pounds

Responsibilities

• Program, set up, and operate a 2020 Hexagon Global S Green CMM
• Develop and run inspection programs using PC-DMIS
• Operate a Hexagon Absolute Arm and Optiv CMM
• Inspect high-precision, low-volume components
• Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, GD&T callouts
• Verify tight tolerances of 0.0002 inch or less
• Perform inspections with micrometers, calipers, height gauges
• Communicate out-of-tolerance conditions to machinists and engineers
• Collaborate with engineers and quality personnel to resolve issues
• Inspect completed parts for quality and machining accuracy
• Calibrate inspection equipment or verify calibration
• Adjust setups for accuracy and efficiency
