Job summary

American Rheinmetall in Michigan is seeking a skilled CMM inspector to program and operate coordinate measuring machines (Leica, Polyworks, PC-DMIS) and to approve first article and production parts. This role supports dimensional verification and inspection activities in a manufacturing environment.

You will read blueprints, apply GD&T, and work with production to ensure accurate measurements, containment when discrepancies arise, and PPAP-aligned data collection and reporting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with 3-5 years related experience or equivalent.
• GD&T experience for print reading and interpretation.
• Proficiency with calipers, micrometers and bore gauges.

Responsibilities

• Develops, qualifies, and maintains CMM programs.
• Inspects and approves first article at start of production.
• Inspects and approves final inspections prior to delivery.
• Reads blueprints to determine specs and tolerances for milled and welded parts.
• Ensures containment actions when discrepancies are found.
• Collaborates with Production leads to relay inspection findings.
• Refines data collection per customer drawings, models, orders, PPAP.
• Participates in corrective and preventive actions.
• Participates in Gage R&R studies.
• Uses various inspection tools to complete dimensional reports.
