Job summary

EXALTA in Bethlehem, PA is seeking a skilled CMM Programmer/Inspector to program and operate coordinated measurement machines for complex geometric inspections on first articles, in-process parts, and finished products. You will support engineering and production to achieve optimal quality outcomes.

The role involves developing and maintaining CMM programs, interpreting drawings and specs, training operators, and driving continuous improvement in measurement processes while ensuring compliance

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a CMM programmer using Calypso and PC-DMIS software.
• Strong manufacturing background in job shop and collaboration with quality, engineering, and operations on the shop floor.
• Able to operate a wide range of measurement devices such as optical comparators, indicators, micrometers, verniers, gages, and CMMs.
• Able to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications and inspection instructions to determine conformance.
• Ability to identify different materials and their relationships to design (form, fit, function).
• Thorough understanding of GD&T callouts.

Responsibilities

• Develop, edit and implement CMM programs from 3D solid models and 2D drawings.
• Write, edit and maintain CMM programs per customer/company specs.
• Create, maintain and follow secure CMM program folders and file structures.
• Lead training of CMM users to improve reliability and knowledge.
• Support operators with troubleshooting on the shop floor.
• Design and develop part fixturing for proper measurements.
• Interpret GD&T, gauging and statistical requirements for inspections.
