Job summary

FEDCO – Fluid Equipment Development Company is seeking an experienced CMM Programmer/Inspector to join the quality team in Monroe, MI. The role focuses on running and programming Mitutoyo CMMs to inspect manufactured components and to create new programs for multiple parts in a single run.

Collaborate with engineering to optimize tolerances and inspection criteria, design fixtures, and resolve production design issues.

Qualifications

Experience with running and programming Mitutoyo CMM.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
Familiarity with measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.

Responsibilities

Program new CMM programs.
Run and program CMM to inspect manufactured components.
Modify existing CMM programs for part changes or to streamline.
Create programs to run multiple parts at one time.
Work with engineering to design dedicated fixtures for manufactured components.
Work with engineering to optimize tolerances and inspection criteria.
Work with engineering to resolve design errors found in production.
Train eligible team members in the operation of the CMM.
Record, evaluate, and report quality data.
Part Inspections – Vendor, Serialized, Stock Parts, and Finished equipment.
Resolve quality-related problems with engineering, manufacturing, customers, and vendors.
Initiate corrective action reports as needed.
Review systems and processes to develop continued improvements and efficiencies.
Other duties as assigned.
