Job summary

Zing Recruiting is seeking an experienced CMM Programmer for a Milan, MI manufacturing site. The role is hands-on, programming, setting up, and running CMM equipment with PC-DMIS, reading blueprints, and interpreting GD&T per ASME/ANSI Y14.5.

You will perform detailed layouts, contribute to SPC/Gauge R&R studies, and assist with PPAP submissions. This is a first-shift, contract-to-hire position based in Milan, MI.

CMM Programmer

Milan, MI | First shift

We are seeking an experienced CMM Programmer to join the Quality team of a leading manufacturer in Milan, MI. This is a hands‑on role for someone comfortable programming, setting up, and running CMM equipment using PC‑DMIS, as well as performing detailed dimensional inspections and interpreting GD&T requirements.

What You’ll Do

• Program, set up, and operate CMM equipment using PC-DMIS
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and GD&T requirements to ASME/ANSI Y14.5 standards
• Perform detailed part layouts using CMM equipment and bench inspection methods
• Compare inspection results against blueprint dimensions and tolerances and communicate discrepancies
• Conduct capability studies and support statistical process control (SPC) activities
• Perform Gauge R&R studies and dimensional gauge certifications
• Certify check fixtures and maintain required quality documentation
• Assist with PPAP submissions and related quality requirements
• Use calipers, micrometers, height gauges, radius gauges, and other precision measuring equipment
• Support part containment, quality audits, scrap reporting, and other quality activities as needed
• Maintain inspection and quality data within applicable systems

What We’re Looking For

• Hands‑on CMM programming experience using PC-DMIS
• Strong knowledge of GD&T and blueprint reading
• Experience performing dimensional inspection and bench layouts
• Proficiency with precision measuring equipment, including calipers, micrometers, and height gauges
• Working knowledge of SPC, Gauge R&R, capability studies, and quality inspection processes
• Experience with fixtures, setup procedures, work instructions, and quality standards
• Associate degree or technical training a plus, or equivalent related experience
• 2+ years of related CMM programming and dimensional inspection experience
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and electronic communication tools
