Job summary

Linamar Corporation is seeking a CMM Programming Technician to provide layout information from CMMs and hand gauges for new starts and capability studies. You will read blueprints, interpret data for part adjustments, and support manufacturing in a team-focused environment.

Responsibilities include daily CMM checks, analyzing reports with cell leaders, performing Gage R&R studies, and printing capability reports.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of PCDMIS software for measurement programming and reporting.
• Ability to mentor and train others in measurement techniques and best practices.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office for documentation and data analysis.
• High school diploma or equivalent; certification or programming experience preferred.

• Perform daily checks of all production machining on CMM and gauges.
• Read blueprints and correlate dimensions to CMM reports.
• Review reports with cell leaders and set up directions to adjust features.
• Conduct capability studies on CMM and with hand gauges.
• Print capability reports and program/use 3D models.
• Perform 100% dimensional layouts to part prints and Gage R&R studies.
• Calibrate gauges and perform routine CMM measurements.
• Work with cross functional teams to reduce waste and improve processes.

Description

The CMM Programming Technician Provide layout information from CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machines) and hand gauges, for new machine start- ups, capability studies and any other causes for measurement analysis. Read and understand blueprints and basic GD&T. Interpret data to assist in part adjustments. Support manufacturing operations in a spirit of teamwork and cooperation.

Responsibility

• Daily checks of all production machining on CMM and any additional gauges Required
• Read blueprints and correlate dimensions to CMM report
• Review reports with the cell leaders and set up team
• Inform cell leader and set up which direction to move features on part to achieve nominal specification on part print
• Conduct capability studies on CMM and with hand gauges
• Print capability reports
• Program and use 3D models
• Perform 100% dimensional Layouts to part prints
• Conduct Gage R&R studies
• Perform Gage calibrations
• Manually operate CMM to measure features on parts
• Use Manual gauges and surface plates to verify any questionable CMM checks
• Works with cross functional teams to continually improve, problem solve and reduce waste
• Perform other related duties as assigned by Quality Manager and Management team

Requirements

Academic/Educational Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required

Programming certification required or 3 to 5 years prior experience programming.
