Job summary

Linamar Corporation in Southfield, MI is seeking a Quality Technician 2 to support the quality team with floor auditing, CMM operation, gage control, and dock audits.

The role emphasizes data collection, gage R&R studies, calibrations, and assisting in sort operations, with opportunities to contribute to capability studies and MRB processes.

Qualifications

• Three years’ experience as a CMM Operator.
• Five years’ experience in an automotive manufacturing environment.
• Experience with SPC and gage tools (micrometers, gauges).

Responsibilities

• CMM Program Modifications/Programming, daily calibration and maintenance.
• Maintain Gage Trak system for gages and calibrations.
• Perform gage R&R studies and oversee gage certifications.
• Assist in capability studies and LPAs.
• Floor auditing and posting of information to floor boards.
• Assist in sorts and MRB processes.
• Prepare and review daily scrap and purge reports.

Job Summary

The Quality Control Technician 2 is responsible for many duties within the quality department including but not limited to floor auditing, CMM operation, gage control, dock audits, assisting in sort operations, etc. The Quality Control Technician 2 assists in performing gage R&R studies, gage calibrations, various studies , data collection and overseeing sort operations.

Responsibility

• CMM Program Modifications/Programming, daily calibration and maintenance
• Maintenance of Gage Trak System for gages
• Gage calibrations and Control of Gage Certifications
• Assist in g au ge R&R Studies
• Floor auditing of parts/Audit Gage tables
• Assist in capability studies
• Assist/manage sorts (tagging, material movement, training, monitoring, writing alerts/purges, etc )
• Perform LPA audits, report results
• Daily scrap disposition and scrap as instructed
• Weekly/monthly scrap reports as instructed
• Daily purge/alert report
• MRB maintenance – daily counts and report out
• Posting of information to floor information boards
• Balloon prints, Dimensional Inspection Report, Annual part Lay-Outs

Academic/Educational Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent

Required Skills/Experience

• At least three years’ experience as a CMM Operator
• Five years’ experience in an automotive manufacturing environment.
• Prior experience with SPC, LPAs, gauges, and micrometers.
