Job summary

Government & Industrial Supply, Inc. (GIS Precision Machining) is seeking a CMM Operator to set up, calibrate and run CMMs, develop PC-DMIS programs and inspect components to GD&T standards in a 4-day work week environment.

The role requires reading engineering drawings, using precision measuring equipment and maintaining strict documentation while collaborating with Quality, Engineering and Production teams to ensure aerospace-grade quality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience operating CMM equipment.
• Experience using PC-DMIS or similar CMM software.
• Strong understanding of GD&T principles.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Experience using precision measuring equipment.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.

Responsibilities

• Set up, calibrate and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs).
• Develop and edit inspection programs using PC-DMIS.
• Inspect machined components for dimensional accuracy and GD&T compliance.
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints and specifications.
• Analyze inspection results and document measurement data.
• Perform first article, in-process and final inspections.
• Maintain calibration records and quality documentation.
• Troubleshoot measurement issues and support corrective actions.
• Work closely with Quality, Engineering and Production teams.
• Help improve inspection processes and overall manufacturing quality.
