Job description

This position involves access to technical data and products controlled under U.S. export control laws and regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).

Role Description

The CMM Operator/Inspector is a full-time, on-site position based in Long Lake, MN. This role is responsible for operating coordinate measuring machines (CMM) and related inspection equipment to perform dimensional inspections on precision aerospace components. Day-to-day tasks include setting up and running CMM programs, documenting inspection results, and collaborating with machinists and engineers to address nonconformances and improve processes. The CMM Operator/Inspector will maintain calibration and inspection records, follow ISO 9001/AS9100 quality standards, and support internal and customer audits. The role also involves participating in continuous improvement activities, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and contributing to a culture of integrity, teamwork, and innovation.

Qualifications
  • CMM operation and dimensional inspection skills, including experience with coordinate measuring machines, precision measuring tools, and reading engineering blueprints.
  • Quality assurance and documentation skills, such as creating inspection reports, maintaining calibration records, and working within ISO 9001/AS9100 or similar quality systems.
  • Technical and analytical skills, including GD&T interpretation, basic math and trigonometry, and the ability to analyze measurement data to identify trends or discrepancies.
  • Manufacturing and machining environment familiarity, preferably with aerospace components, including understanding of machining processes, tolerances, and material handling.
  • Computer and software proficiency, such as working with CMM programming software, MS Office, and production/quality management systems.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities, including clear written and verbal communication, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and professionalism with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and reliability, with a focus on accuracy, consistency, time management, and following safety and company policies.
