Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) Operator sets up and runs precision 3D measuring equipment to test manufactured aerospace metal and insulator parts against strict engineering blueprints and quality standards.
Run Inspections: Load parts onto the CMM and execute pre-written measurement programs for in-process or final quality checks.
Read Blueprints: Interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) symbols.
Use Hand Gages: Measure components using manual precision tools like micrometers, height gages, and calipers when needed.
Document Results: Record inspection data, prepare layout reports, and flag non-conforming or defective parts.
Maintain Equipment: Clean parts, handle fixtures, and perform routine calibration or probe checks on the machine.
