Job summary

Magna International Inc. in Iowa, part of Cosma International, is seeking a skilled CMM operator to read blueprints, apply GD&T, and perform precise measurements using calipers, micrometers, and the Brown & Sharp DCC CMM.

You will support quality efforts, complete MSA certifications within the first year, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to sustain product quality and customer satisfaction. Safety and timely delivery are essential, with the ability to lift up to 40 pounds and work

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GE 3+ years' experience operating a CMM machine.
  • Successful completion of AIAG MSA Certification Exam within one year from hire date.
  • If certification expires, recertify prior to expiration.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, data, and guidelines to ensure quality.
  • Operate CMM and measuring instruments to verify part dimensions.
  • Contribute to product quality and customer satisfaction through accurate measurements.
  • Collaborate with team to maintain punctuality and meet deadlines.
  • Able to lift up to 40 pounds and operate safely with slings and hoists.

Job Responsibilities:
Required Capabilities
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, math data, reports, instructions and guidelines
  • Proficient in MSA and SPC (Training to be provided)
  • Proficient in using Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Proficient in using measuring instruments, i.e. caliper, micrometer, height gages, etc.
  • Able to use Brown & Sharp DCC Coordinate Measuring Machine
  • Able to demonstrate understanding of how job performance affects product quality and customer satisfaction
  • Able to work well with others; build and maintain positive employee relations
  • Able to prepare, read and interpret written reports, instructions, procedures and guidelines
  • Proficient in personal computer operation and applications in a MS Windows operating system
  • Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, employees, suppliers and customer
  • Able to safely lift up to 40 pounds without assistance
  • Able to safely use slings and hoists
  • Able to maintain punctuality and good attendance record
  • Able to maintain confidentiality, and use discretion and tact
  • Able to manage and schedule multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Able to work flexible hours and overtime
  • Must display a can-do attitude and be able to work and perform job responsibilities with a minimum amount of direct supervision
Qualifications, Education and Experience

High School diploma or GE 3+ years' experience operating a CMM machine. Successful completion of AIAG MSA Certification Exam to be done within one year from hire date. If certification expires (e.g. every 3 years) employee must be re-certified prior to expiration.
