Job summary

HM Dunn AeroSystems, Inc. in Wichita, KS seeks a dedicated CMM Operator to write programs and operate a Coordinate Measuring Machine to verify part configurations meet customer requirements.

You will review drawings, set up measurements, and record data while ensuring conformance to AS9100 standards and GD&T specifications. Occasional evenings/weekends and minor travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience with PC DMIS

Responsibilities

• Start equipment and select program from listings, match part/tool ID with program, perform setup
• Position and level part/tool on CMM surface plate
• Activate digital readout and record measurements
• Compare measurements to dimensions and tolerances and note discrepancies
• Perform manual dimensional checks to verify results
• Document non-conforming conditions
• Analyze data, prepare and deliver reports
• Identify and participate in continuous improvement projects
• Communicate effectively with all contacts

Summary

This position is responsible for writing programs for and operating a
Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) to verify that the configuration of
manufacture parts meets the customers requirements.
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Review planning, engineering drawings, and digital models to determine proper dimensions and tolerance specifications for specific parts and/or tools to be measured
• Start equipment and select program from the available listings, match part/tool identification with computer program, and perform set up operations
• Position and level part / tool on surface plate of CMM taking care not to damage part / tool or the machine
• Activate digital readout equipment and record specified measurements
• Compare measurements to specified dimensions and tolerances noting discrepancies
• Perform manual dimensional check as needed to verify questionable results
• Document all non-conforming conditions
• Analyze data, prepare, and deliver reports
• Identify and participate in continuous improvement projects
• Communicate effectively (verbal and written) with all contacts
• Accept and adapt easily to change
• Ensure that all activities are consistent with Company Mission
