Job summary

RTCA, a precision aerospace and defense manufacturer, is hiring a CMM Inspector for a full-time on-site role in Chatsworth, CA. You will perform dimensional inspections using CMMs, verify product conformity, and support continuous improvement through measurement data and documentation.

The role requires expertise in GD&T, CMM programming, and reading engineering drawings, with experience in AS9100/ISO 9001 environments. A strong team player attitude and rigorous attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in quality inspection within aerospace, machining, manufacturing, or precision machining environments.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, customer specifications, CAD models, and technical documentation.
• Knowledge of GD&T principles and inspection methodologies.
• Experience operating, setting up, programming, or troubleshooting CMM equipment.
• Proficiency using standard inspection tools and dimensional measurement equipment.
• Ability to complete and maintain detailed inspection and quality records.
• Understanding of quality management systems such as AS9100, ISO 9001, or related standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual, dimensional, mechanical, and final inspections on raw materials, in-process components, and finished products using CMMs and conventional inspection equipment.
• Develop, execute, validate, and troubleshoot CMM programs using drawings, CAD models, specifications, and inspection requirements.
• Interpret engineering drawings, models, manufacturing orders, work instructions, and GD&T requirements per ASME Y14.5.
• Generate and maintain accurate inspection records, FAIRs, rejection tags, corrective actions, and related quality documentation.
• Review and approve inspection and test data to verify compliance with standards.
• Interface with production teams, customers, auditors, and government inspectors as required.
