Job summary

Progress Rail is seeking a Calibration Technician I to support high-volume CMM inspection and gauge calibration at the Winston-Salem facility. You will set up and operate CMM/PC-DMIS programs, maintain gauge calibration records, and create standard work procedures to ensure accurate part verification.

The role concentrates on CMM operations, gage management, and coordination with Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Tool Design and Global Purchasing.

Qualifications

• Experience inspecting Caterpillar Lower Powertrain components using CMMs.
• Experience as CMM Technician at CAM Facility.
• Familiarity with ISO and Quality Management System requirements.
• Experience with Manual Horizontal Measurement Machines.
• Experience calibrating, documenting and issuing/receiving various types of gauges.
• Experience reading Blueprint Reading & GD&T.
• Proficiency using common shop gauges (micrometers, calipers, indicators).
• Knowledgeable with CPS Tools: 5S, Stop-to-Fix, Andon System.

Responsibilities

• Read and analyze prints and interpret GD&T inspection.
• Perform gauge calibrations and operate calibration equipment.
• Identify and locate gauges due for calibration.
• Maintain database for gauges.
• Create standard work documents and gauge-related procedures.
• Setup and operate programs on a Coordinate Measuring Machine.
