Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
  • Progressive experience in continuing medical education, continuing education, healthcare education, conference/program management, accreditation, or a closely related field.
  • Experience coordinating multiple programs or projects with competing deadlines and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience developing or improving operational processes and quality-control systems.
  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret requirements, policies, or standards and translate them into practical operational processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with staff, faculty, healthcare professionals, organizational leadership, and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to independently identify problems, develop solutions, and appropriately elevate significant risks or issues.
  • Proficiency with technology and the ability to learn and manage systems used for registration, attendance, educational content, project management, and reporting.
  • Ability to travel and work occasional evenings or weekends in connection with conferences and educational programs.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of CME activities and programs.
  • Coordinate workflows across the lifecycle of CME activities from planning through evaluation and closeout.
  • Ensure educational activities meet internal deadlines, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify operational bottlenecks and work with leadership to resolve them.
  • Develop systems to manage a growing portfolio of educational activities.
  • Provide supervision, guidance, and day-to-day support to CME staff.
  • Establish expectations, responsibilities, and accountability for team members.
  • Monitor workloads and distribute assignments.
  • Support staff training and professional development related to CME processes, accreditation, technology, and procedures.
  • Foster a collaborative, service-oriented, and continuous-improvement culture.
  • Support workforce planning and staff performance management.
  • Maintain readiness for accreditation reviews, audits, and other regulatory activities.
  • Monitor changes in accreditation requirements and update policies accordingly.
  • Escalate significant compliance risks when needed.
  • Develop quality-control processes and standard operating procedures.
  • Promote standardization while allowing flexibility for different formats.
  • Support learner records, attendance, and reporting.
  • Assist with conference logistics and post-activity closeout.
  • Provide on-site or virtual operational leadership for conferences and programs.
