Job summary

AbbVie is seeking a Director, CMC Product Development to unite scientific insight with enterprise leadership. You will drive an integrated CMC strategy across late discovery to manufacturing transfer, serving as the single CMC spokesperson and aligning stakeholders from senior leaders to external partners.

You will lead diverse, matrixed teams, shape asset-level strategy, and manage risk while communicating complex topics clearly and influencing decisions across functions and geographies.

Qualifications

• Significant pharmaceutical development experience with interdisciplinary CMC expertise.
• Ability to lead matrixed cross-functional teams and influence senior leaders.
• Strong communication translating complex technical information into clear strategic recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the CMC leader, integrator, and spokesperson on the Asset Strategy Team (AST).
• Lead cross-functional Product Presentation and Device Strategy teams (PPDST) and CMC teams.
• Develop and drive the integrated CMC strategy and development plan for complex assets.
• Communicate with impact across organizational levels and surface risks and opportunities.
• Build relationships across CMC, Clinical, Regulatory, Quality, Operations, and external partners.
• Mentor and develop other CMC leaders and team members.
• Lead a portfolio across modalities including small molecules, biologics, ADCs, cell/gene therapies.
