Job summary

GE Aerospace in the United States seeks a Process Engineer to lead non-conventional machining (lasers and EDMs) of Ceramic Matrix Composite parts. You will drive improvement projects, support safety, quality, delivery and cost, and collaborate with manufacturing teams on industrialization and equipment needs.

You will apply Cp/Cpk/SPC methods, lean principles, and structured problem solving to reduce cycle times and defects, while coordinating with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • Or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years manufacturing operations experience.
  • Strong communication skills to document, plan and execute projects.
  • Cp/cpk/SPC experience and data-driven problem solving.
  • Knowledge of lean principles and continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Support plant safety policies and drive safety, quality, delivery & cost improvements.
  • Lead improvement projects from concept to completion with sustainment.
  • Implement APQP for responsible processes and manage manufacturing development.
  • Drive cycle time reductions and support low/ full-rate production.
  • Provide hands-on problem solving and root-cause analysis for defects.
  • Coordinate equipment, tooling and fixtures for development and improvements.
  • Create and maintain schedules to meet business metrics; limited travel.

Job Description Summary

Process Engineering position responsible for the non conventional machining (lasers and EDMs) of Ceramic Matrix Composite (CMC) parts. This engineer will lead improvement projects and shop floor support for a product line in an their assigned area.

Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Support plant safety policies
  • Improve all aspects of Safety, Quality, Delivery & Cost
  • Lead improvement projects from concept to completion & assure sustainment
  • APQP for responsible processes
  • Drive & lead/cycle time improvements
  • Lead & support low rate and full rate production
  • Implement necessary equipment, tooling & fixtures for manufacturing development and process improvements
  • Create, maintain & adhere to schedules to achieve business metrics/targets
  • Listen to the voice on the floor, understand the problem and implement effective countermeasures
  • Manage projects related to product industrialization
  • Hands on problem solving & investigation
  • Continuous improvement mind set
  • Perform root cause and corrective action of product & process failures and defects
  • Limited remote working conditions
  • Limited travel (equipment run off, supplier visits)
Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree accredited college or university (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in manufacturing operations experience)
