Job summary

GE Aerospace is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to optimize aerospace component production. You will work on high-precision 5-axis milling, CAM programming, and tooling/fixture design.

The role includes leading small projects, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring production processes meet quality, volume, and timeliness standards. Strong communication and collaboration across teams are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university (or equivalent with 4 years manufacturing experience)
  • Minimum of 3 years manufacturing experience in a related field
  • Experience with high precision aerospace components and multi-axis machining environments

Responsibilities

  • Experience with high precision aerospace components
  • Experience in 5 Axis CNC Mill/Drill processes
  • Experience with CAM software - NX, TeamCenter
  • Operate Fanuc, Okuma, and Mazak multi-axis mills

Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Experience with high precision aerospace components
  • Experience in 5 Axis CNC Mill/Drill processes
  • Experience with CAM software - NX, TeamCenter
  • Fanuc controls, Okuma CNC multi axis mills, Mazak multi axis mills
  • Tool selection and fixture design
  • Ability to create visual work instructions for CNC operators
  • Define and control production process including tooling and equipment. Validate design specifications and shop floor application of new product, tools, or equipment. Includes Manufacturing Engineers.
  • Includes direct people management responsibility including staffing and performance development. Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking and technical experience to execute policy/strategy.
  • Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
  • Uses some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements. Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in manufacturing experience) + Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing experience

  • SME level Mill/Drill within aerospace component manufacturing environment
  • 5+ years experience with multi axis machining centers
