Job summary

Summit Medical Group at Newport is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or LPN to join our Newport, TN office. The role supports physicians with clinical tasks and patient care in a full-time, on-site capacity.

Responsibilities include patient preparation, vital signs, phlebotomy, injections, EKGs, and assistance during procedures. The candidate must have CMA certification or TN LPN license and preferably six months of clinical experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required, prefer additional vocational or college credits.
• At least six months experience in a similar clinical setting preferred.
• Certified Medical Assistant certification or LPN TN license required.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms and prepares patients for examinations and procedures according to physician preferences.
• Record vital signs of patients including pulse, blood pressure, height, weight.
• Perform phlebotomy, injections, EKGs, holter monitors, etc.
• Assist physicians with procedures and administer medications and conduct patient education.
• Handle phone nursing tasks including triaging, pre-certs, referrals, calling in prescriptions.
• Perform clerical duties to support physicians and contact patients about test results.
• Pull and prepare patient records for physicians.
• Schedule patient appointments with efficient use of time slots.
• Maintain stocked, neat exam rooms and common areas.
• Follow OSHA and HIPAA guidelines and site protocols.
• Participate in site-level Quality Improvement Activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
