The Iowa Clinic in Central Iowa seeks dedicated nursing professionals (CMA, RN, or LPN) to join our Primary Care Float team. Expect standard clinic hours Mon-Fri across multiple facilities, with opportunities to engage in patient care, triage support, and collaborative planning with physicians.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing services for patients following established standards; Monday-Friday clinic hours.
• Room patients and take vitals; assess care needs.
• Assist providers with triage and formulate initial care plans.
• Spend time with patients, listen, and understand their needs.
• Maintain patient records and ensure team collaboration.

A day in the life…

Wondering what a day in the life of aCMA, LPN, or RN in Primary Care - Floatat The Iowa Clinic might look like?

• Arrive at work in the morning – no night shifts here!
• Provide professional nursing services for patients of assigned physician(s) following established nursing practice standards and medical office procedures; Monday-Friday, standard clinic hours at our various Primary Care facilities: Urbandale, West Des Moines, Ankeny, Waukee, Johnston, Altoona, and Indianola!
• Conducts comprehensive assessments of patient's care needs
• Room patients and take vitals
• Assists provider(s) with patient triage, identifies nursing diagnoses or problem lists and formulates an initial plan of care based on assessment data
• Spend enough time with your patients to listen to them and get to know them
• Participate in a department potluck or team building activity over lunch
• Visit The Iowa Clinic intranet to see what volunteer opportunities are available to you this month and read what is happening around the clinic
• Return patient calls and ensure all patients feel valued and cared for
• Leave in the evening – hooray for working standard clinic hours!

Required Licenses:

• Iowa RN license, CMA (AAMA) or LPN License required.
