Qualifications

Responsibilities
  • Clinical Excellence/Patient Care: Assist providers and clinical staff with obtaining vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, treatments, and minor procedures.
  • Demonstrate competence in clinical skills necessary for your duties.
  • Draw blood and other samples, prepare specimens for lab analysis.
  • Apply the Nursing Process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation) within licensure guidelines.
  • Perform telephone triage, providing advice for home care and follow-up calls regarding patient health.
  • Administer vaccines and medications via oral, IM, SQ, or ID routes.
  • Place urinary catheters and IVs per protocol and licensure.
  • Coordinate and schedule assessments, prepare daily visit schedules, and manage referrals, including proper documentation and coding.
  • Understand inpatient and outpatient procedures, ensuring compliance with precertification requirements.
  • Track follow-up appointments and document in the electronic health record accurately.
  • Supervise delegated duties to LPNs and CMAs per protocols.
  • Participate in nurse on-call rotation.
Development and Patient Education
  • Stay informed about clinic and organizational updates via meetings, emails, and intranet.
  • Maintain compliance with CLIA, OSHA, Safety, Risk Management, HIPAA, and other policies.
  • Ensure regular attendance and demonstrate initiative to improve quality and customer service.
  • Educate patients and families using the Teach-back method.
  • Contribute positively to team goals and support office operations.
Qualifications

Education: Current Iowa/Wisconsin RN or LPN license, or CMA certification from AAMA, NCCT, AMT, or NHA. High school diploma required if working in a complex CLIA lab.

Licenses/Certifications: BLS, Mandatory Reporter status.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Understanding and application of guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Previous clinical experience preferred.
  • Proficient computer skills.
