Job summary

Summit Medical Group at Morristown is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or LPN for a full-time, on-site role from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. You will escort patients to exam rooms, record vital signs, assist with procedures (phlebotomy, injections, EKGs, holter monitors), support physicians with patient education, perform light clerical duties, and help triage calls while maintaining HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required, prefer additional vocational or college credits.
• Certified or Registered Medical Assistant certification required.
• At least six months experience in a similar clinical setting preferred.
• Ability to work under physician guidance and handle patient care responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Escorts patients to exam rooms and prepares patients for examinations and procedures according to physician preferences.
• Records vital signs such as pulse, blood pressure, height, weight.
• Assists with procedures (phlebotomy, injections, EKGs, holter monitors).
• Assists physicians with procedures and administers medications and patient education.
• Handles phone nursing, triage, referrals, calls in prescriptions.
• Performs clerical duties and contacts patients regarding test results.
• Pulls and prepares patient records for physicians.
• Schedules patient appointments with efficient time slot usage.
• Maintains clean exam rooms and work areas daily.
• Adheres to policies, OSHA and HIPAA guidelines.
• Participates in site-level Quality Improvement Activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
