Job summary

University Orthopedics seeks a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) Float to support multiple sites and care teams. You will assist physicians, prepare patients, and manage exam rooms while maintaining high-quality patient care and confidentiality.

The role requires CMA certification (or an RI-licensed allied health professional) and strong clinical, documentation, and communication skills. Travel to all sites may be required as needed.

Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification required (AMA/NCCT/NHA/AMT).
• RI licensed LPN, PT, PTA, OT or OTA acceptable alternative.
• Strong clinical, documentation, and communication skills needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and physician assistants with patient care.
• Prepare patients and exam rooms, manage supplies and equipment.
• Record vital signs, medical history, and prepare specimens for lab testing.
• Educate patients and families on medications and procedures.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and accurate EHR documentation.
• Support casting/splinting and durable medical equipment handling as needed.
