Job summary

Dayton Physicians Network in Centerville, OH is seeking a Part Time CMA for our Urology clinic. The role supports physicians with patient care and clinic operations, with schedules Tue/Fri 7:00am–4:30pm or Mon–Fri 7:00am–11:00am.

Qualifications

• Requires a High School Diploma or GED.
• Two-year degree from a college or technical school.
• Medical Assistant Certification.
• One year of Medical Assistant experience; 2–4 years preferred.
• Current CPR certification, or must obtain within 60 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and assists with patient flow.
• Administers medications and assists with procedures as directed.
• Documents vital signs and medical history in EMR; communicates abnormalities.
• Contacts patients with lab/test results and schedules follow-ups.
• Maintains logs and ensures privacy and safety compliance.

Education

The Medical Assistant provides assistance to the physicians and practitioners with patient care, administrative, environmental and organizational tasks.

Schedule:

Tuesday and Fridays 7:00am - 4:30pm OR Monday - Friday 7:00am - 11:00am

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and assists with patient flow;
• Administers medications, performs procedures directed by physician and practitioners
• Assists with preparatory activities such as taking and documenting vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, height and weight, and communicates abnormalities to physician or practitioner;
• Reviews and documents patient medical history including medications, allergies, and medical alerts, documents in the electronic medical record;
• Contact patients with lab and test results and indicates required follow-up, as directed;
• Documents all medical contacts;
• Assists physician and practitioners with relaying instructions to patients and families;
• Replenishes supplies and removes biohazard waste from patient rooms as directed;
• Maintains any necessary logs;
• Participates in professional development activities to keep current with job responsibilities;
• Follow all health care privacy and safety rules and adheres to Dayton Physicians Core Values;
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Education and/or Experience:

• Requires a High School Diploma or GED and;
• Two (2) year degree from a college or technical school, and;
• Medical Assistant Certification
• One (1) year of previous experience as a Medical Assistant;
• 2-4 years’ experience is preferred.
• Current CPR certification, if not it must be obtained within 60 days of employment and kept current thereafter.
