Job summary

Prestige Healthcare Management is seeking a nursing leader to oversee resident care in a long-term care setting. You will assist in developing individualized care plans, coordinate with physicians, and supervise CNA/CMA staff to meet resident needs.

You will ensure accurate documentation, admissions and discharges, and adherence to policies while supporting residents and families with education on health conditions and treatments.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and maintain a current Iowa nursing license.
• CMA certification is required.
• Must be able to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions in English.
• Experience in long-term care or skilled nursing setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate resident needs and assist in developing service plans for residents.
• Communicate with families about resident condition and progress, including in-person and phone discussions.
• Assist physician during rounds, review orders, and maintain resident charts and medication records.
• Requisition supplies and equipment, ensuring cleanliness and good working order.
• Maintain unit records, including charting and narcotic records; carry out treatment and medication orders.
• Admit and orient new residents and families; verify orders and assist with transfers and pre-admission information.
• Assign and supervise CNA/CMA staff; adjust duties to meet resident needs and ensure completion of tasks.
• Assist with staff evaluations and provide coaching on performance improvement.
• Ensure policies and procedures are current and implemented.
• Make daily rounds to assess emotional and physical needs and respond to emergencies; document observations and follow physician orders.
• Maintain resident information with strict confidentiality; support training of new department staff.
• Adhere to grooming, appearance, and dress code policies.
• Involve in admissions and discharges of residents.
• Administer medications and treatments as directed.
• Educate residents and families about health conditions and changes in medications.
