Job summary

Highland Pines Nursing and Rehabilitation in Longview, TX is seeking a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to work under the charge nurse. The CMA conducts timely and accurate med passes to support high-quality resident care.

You will participate in shift reports, perform routine patient care per policies, adhere to hand hygiene and infection control, and communicate changes to the Patient Care Supervisor. This on-site role requires current CMA certification and effective English communication.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively in English through both speech and writing.
• Previous patient care experience preferred.
• Current certification for Medication Aide.

Responsibilities

• Participate in Shift Report.
• Perform routine patient care per policies; employ preventative and restorative measures.
• Follow hand washing and infection control guidelines during patient care.
• Report any change in patient condition to the Patient Care Supervisor.
• Follow charting guidelines for PRN documentation.
• Report medication reorder and related items.
• Participate in all meetings and required training or in-service.
• Inventory drugs on designated forms as they arrive.

CLINICAL:

• Participate in Shift Report.
• Perform routine patient care in accordance with Federal, State, Company and Center nursing policies and procedures. Employs preventative and restorative measures.
• Follows hand washing techniques and other infection control guidelines during the performance of patient care.

ADMINISTRATIVE

• Reports promptly any change of patient condition or other concerns to Patient Care Supervisor.
• Follow charting guidelines for PRN documentation.
• Reports medication reorder, etc.
• Participates in all assigned meetings.
• Participates in all training, education or in-service as required.
• Inventory drugs, on the designated forms, as they arrive.
