Job summary

Wolverine Fuels, LLC is seeking an experienced Underground Coal Mining Supervisor to oversee continuous miner maintenance and CM operations at the Canyon Fuel Company - Fossil Rock Mine in Utah. You will lead maintenance activities, coordinate with outby crews, and drive safety and efficiency across production processes.

The role reports to the Maintenance Manager, requiring ten years of underground mining experience, strong leadership, planning skills, and proficiency with Excel/Word.

Qualifications

• Underground coal mining supervisory experience.
• Ten years underground mining experience in CM operations and general mine work.
• Comprehensive understanding of continuous mining methods.
• Strong planning and organizational skills.
• Leadership ability.
• Current Utah Mine Foreman Certification.
• MSHA Electrical Certification preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs and monitors all activity for continuous miner maintenance including setup, production, and recovery.
• Coordinates support of Continuous Miner maintenance and outby crews with appropriate mine management.
• Attains optimum level of operating and cost efficiency for CM production activities.
• Recommends and implements improvements in equipment and production methods.
• Conducts meetings and organizes training to improve overall continuous miner performance.
• Sets goals, priorities, and standards through communication and cooperation with all departments.
• Recommends Continuous Miner equipment selection/modifications; active in contracts, equipment specs, warranties and price negotiations.
• Approves CM material and supply orders to authorized level.
• Implements all safety policies and procedures related to an injury free work environment.
• Develops, implements, and monitors cost reduction plans and productivity improvements.

Preferred Education & Experience

• Demonstrated successful underground coal mining supervisory experience
• Ten years underground mining experience with a diverse background in, CM operations and general mine work
• Must have a comprehensive understanding of continuous mining methods
• Good planning and organizational Skills
• Strong leadership ability
• Current Utah Mine Foreman Certification
• MSHA Electrical Certification preferred
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Excellent communications (oral and written) skills
• Computer skills in Microsoft Excel and Word are required
