Responsibilities

Summary/Responsibilities of this position:

• Stock and sell products to retail customers, both new and existing.
• Order products to maximize sales.
• Merchandise, front, and sell products following detailed instructions.
• Work under supervision, applying basic skills in procedures, techniques, tools, and equipment.
• Possess specific product knowledge depending on the department.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing excellent customer service.
• Organizing, cleaning, and preparing the back area for deliveries.
• Keeping the sales floor clean and uncluttered.
• Stocking and rotating items as needed.
• Resetting products and maintaining shelf conditions, tags, and signage.
• Checking shipments for out-of-date or damaged products to ensure quality.
• Adhering to regulations for product freshness, safety, refrigeration, and sanitation.
• Maintaining standards in shrink, safety, and inventory control.
• Assisting in merchandising to maximize sales.
• Using suggestive selling techniques to increase sales.

Preferred Experience and Education

• 0-2 years of experience typically required.
• Knowledge of department products, food prep, and equipment preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of specialty foods and preparation is essential.
• Strong customer service skills and passion for food.
• Materials handling certification preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and in extreme temperatures.

Physical and Other Requirements
