Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco — Visitacion Valley Clubhouse in San Francisco, CA is seeking an Assistant Clubhouse Director (ACD) to lead day-to-day operations, safety, and youth programming under the Clubhouse Director and VP of Club Services.

You will manage 3–5 staff, shape schedules, oversee budgets, and strengthen relationships with families and community partners while ensuring a welcoming, safe environment for members ages six to 18.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of leadership experience at a large youth-serving non-profit with success in staff management, operations, and community relations (inner-city Boys & Girls Club or CBO experience strongly preferred)
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
• Thorough understanding of non-profit operations, youth development, asset management, and risk management best practices
• Demonstrated leadership skills including negotiation, problem-solving, delegation, and decision-making
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to plan, direct, and coordinate operations

Responsibilities

• Staff Management & Leadership: Recruit, hire, train, evaluate, and mentor 3–5 direct reports providing high-quality youth services; Develop daily program schedules aligned with BGCSF’s strategic plan; review and optimize existing programming; Co-develop and manage the annual budget alongside the Clubhouse Director; Maintain active leadership presence during peak program and pick-up times, ensuring lobby safety and strong community relations; Manage daily program sign-in records and facilitate staff meeting agendas.
