Job summary

Baltusrol Golf Club in northern New Jersey is seeking a driven Assistant Manager for the Clubhouse to oversee renowned food and beverage operations. You will cultivate a positive, energized staff environment and deliver memorable experiences for our members.

Qualifications

• Aspiring general manager in the private club industry.
• Extensive knowledge of wine, beer, and spirits.
• Experience in multi-dimensional à la carte dining services, training, and service standards.
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with members.
• Strong verbal and written communications skills; ability to lead staff and articulate expectations.
• Brand-aligned personality compatible with Baltusrol’s culture.

Responsibilities

• Manage dining areas and events across all Club dining venues.
• Develop and implement training programs for dining staff.
• Produce a daily dining plan based on reservations and guest counts.
• Ensure all staff adhere to the Club’s hospitality standards.
• Oversee hiring and onboarding of new employees and provide necessary resources.
• Lead daily pre-shift meetings and maintain dining venue appearance.
• Maintain a detailed POS system and coordinate kitchen/service workflow.
• Coordinate food service between kitchen and service staff.
• Collaborate with Events team on private and club-wide events.
• Produce dashboards tracking dining covers, family meals, and menu performance.
• Emphasize member engagement and teach staff to anticipate preferences.
