Job Summary
The Club Manager will be responsible for overseeing gym operations to ensure an exceptional “Judgement Free” member experience and a financially successful club. The Club Manager will lead a team of employees positively, providing ongoing training and development.
Full-time: 42 hours per week (Monday and Tuesday 9a-7p, Wednesday 9a-7p, Thursday 9a-5p, Friday 9a-2p)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Recruit, hire, train, and develop a high-performing staff including Assistant Managers, Member Service Representatives, Trainers, and Custodians.
- Create and maintain a welcoming atmosphere for members, prospective members, and guests, ensuring staff follows customer service standards.
- Staff Management:
- Schedule staff and ensure all shifts are covered.
- Lead by example, maintain accountability, and coach staff to adhere to company values and goals.
- Administer payroll processing.
- Resolve employee issues.
- Manage disciplinary and termination activities.
- Handle front desk activities:
- Answer phones and assist callers.
- Check members in.
- Sign up new members.
- Conduct tours for prospective members.
- Address member requests, issues, and questions.
- Ensure gym opens and closes promptly.
- Oversee cleanliness and maintenance, including daily cleaning and safety measures.
- Report equipment repairs.
- Manage marketing efforts and staff training on promotions.
- Authorize expenditures, refunds, and handle bank deposits.
- Prepare HR forms and coordinate with payroll.
- Track and analyze reports and statistics.
- Provide backup support for absent employees.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Excellent customer service skills, preferably in fitness.
- Experience as an Assistant Manager at Planet Fitness preferred.
- Strong leadership, diplomacy, and listening skills.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office).
- Energetic, hardworking, and enthusiastic.
- Problem-solving skills.
- CPR certification required.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must be 18 or older.
Physical Demands
- Stand and walk continuously during shifts.
- Speak in person or on the phone frequently.
- Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
- Occasionally handle chemicals.
