Job Summary

The Club Manager will be responsible for overseeing gym operations to ensure an exceptional “Judgement Free” member experience and a financially successful club. The Club Manager will lead a team of employees positively, providing ongoing training and development.

Full-time: 42 hours per week (Monday and Tuesday 9a-7p, Wednesday 9a-7p, Thursday 9a-5p, Friday 9a-2p)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Recruit, hire, train, and develop a high-performing staff including Assistant Managers, Member Service Representatives, Trainers, and Custodians.
2. Create and maintain a welcoming atmosphere for members, prospective members, and guests, ensuring staff follows customer service standards.
3. Staff Management:
   1. Schedule staff and ensure all shifts are covered.
   2. Lead by example, maintain accountability, and coach staff to adhere to company values and goals.
   3. Administer payroll processing.
   4. Resolve employee issues.
   5. Manage disciplinary and termination activities.
4. Handle front desk activities:
   1. Answer phones and assist callers.
   2. Check members in.
   3. Sign up new members.
   4. Conduct tours for prospective members.
   5. Address member requests, issues, and questions.
   6. Ensure gym opens and closes promptly.
5. Oversee cleanliness and maintenance, including daily cleaning and safety measures.
   1. Report equipment repairs.
6. Manage marketing efforts and staff training on promotions.
7. Authorize expenditures, refunds, and handle bank deposits.
8. Prepare HR forms and coordinate with payroll.
9. Track and analyze reports and statistics.
10. Provide backup support for absent employees.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Excellent customer service skills, preferably in fitness.
• Experience as an Assistant Manager at Planet Fitness preferred.
• Strong leadership, diplomacy, and listening skills.
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office).
• Energetic, hardworking, and enthusiastic.
• Problem-solving skills.
• CPR certification required.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be 18 or older.

Physical Demands

• Stand and walk continuously during shifts.
• Speak in person or on the phone frequently.
• Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
• Occasionally handle chemicals.
