Job Summary

The Club Manager will oversee gym operations to ensure an exceptional “Judgement Free” member experience and the financial success of the club. They will lead a team of employees positively, providing ongoing training and development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Recruit, hire, train, and develop a high-performing team including Assistant Managers, Member Service Representatives, Trainers, and Custodians.
• Create and maintain a welcoming environment for members, prospective members, and guests, ensuring staff follows customer service standards.
• Manage staff scheduling and ensure all shifts are covered.
• Lead by example, coaching staff to adhere to company values and goals.
• Handle payroll processing and resolve employee issues.
• Manage disciplinary and termination procedures.
• Oversee front desk activities such as answering calls, member check-ins, new member sign-ups, and tours.
• Address member requests, issues, and questions promptly.
• Ensure the gym opens and closes on time and maintain cleanliness and safety of the facility.
• Coordinate equipment repairs and oversee maintenance.
• Manage marketing efforts and ensure staff awareness of promotions.
• Authorize expenditures, process refunds, and handle bank deposits.
• Prepare HR forms and report statistics regularly.
• Provide backup support for absent employees.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Excellent customer service skills, preferably in the fitness industry.
• Management experience in a health club or gym, or as an Assistant Manager at Planet Fitness.
• Strong leadership, diplomacy, and listening skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Energetic, hardworking, and enthusiastic.
• Effective problem-solving skills.
• Current CPR certification.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Physical Demands

• Stand and walk continuously during shifts.
• Speak in person and on the phone regularly.
• Work at least 45 hours per week.
• Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
• Potential exposure to toxic chemicals.
