Job summary

The St. Petersburg Yacht Club is seeking a Club Facilities Support Person to ensure top-notch cleanliness, safety, and presentation of banquet and meeting spaces. You will set up rooms, assist banquet staff, and maintain a welcoming environment for members and guests.

Responsibilities include timely room setup and breakdown, cleaning duties across multiple areas, and reporting maintenance issues. The role supports a professional team in a private club setting and requires flexibility for events

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to use equipment required for the job.
  • Willing to work various shifts when necessary, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as events require.
  • Able to lift up to 100 lbs occasionally and 50 lbs frequently.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
  • Ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with the body and arms.
  • Ability to work under variable temperatures and noise levels.
  • Ability to see details at close range.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time without sitting or leaning.
  • Must possess good communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Set up function room tables, chairs, AV equipment, and any other necessary equipment according to prescribed layout and sales contract.
  • Ensure banquet and meeting rooms are properly set up in a timely manner so that banquet service staff may prepare for functions.
  • Break down and reset banquet and meeting rooms in a timely and safe manner after event completion; turn and clean rooms on time for the next scheduled function.
  • Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas so that club standards are met.
  • Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and/or draperies, using vacuum cleaners and/or shampooers.
  • Empty wastebaskets, empty and clean ashtrays, and transport other trash and waste to disposal areas.
  • Sweep, scrub, wax, and/or polish floors, using brooms, mops, and/or powered scrubbing and waxing machines.
  • Dust and polish furniture and equipment.
  • Keep storage areas and carts well‑stocked, clean, and tidy.
  • Polish silver, brass, and other metal accessories and metalwork, such as fixtures and fittings.
  • Perform all duties in a timely and professional manner.
  • Give recognition to members, when applicable.
  • Immediately report to maintenance any damages, lights out, or loss of items.
  • Turn Lost and Found items in to the Front Desk or Manager.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager.
  • Respond to any reasonable task as assigned by any supervisor or manager.

BASIC FUNCTION

The Club Facilities Support Person ensures the highest level of cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance in all S.P.Y.C. facilities, and sets, maintains, and refreshes banquet and meeting rooms according to sales contracts and club standards. This role ensures that all banquet and meeting rooms are properly set up in a timely manner so that banquet service staff may prepare for functions and is responsible for the prompt and safe breakdown of rooms after event completion. The Club Facilities Support Person promotes excellent public relations and 100% guest satisfaction, works as a valuable member of a dedicated professional team, and performs other duties as assigned by their manager. Reports to work as scheduled, in proper uniform, in accordance with the club’s personal appearance standards.

QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Knowledge, Training, & Work Experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent.

TASKS
