Job summary

The Make Golf Your Career golf shop at Fountain Hills is seeking a club attendant to greet customers, process tee-time reservations, and handle merchandise sales. You will ensure accurate cash and card transactions and maintain a clean shop environment.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, retail or guest-service experience, strong English communication, and basic computer skills. Golf knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; prior retail experience preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills are essential.
• Basic computer and typing skills; familiarity with POS systems is helpful.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken) and attention to detail expected.
• Golf knowledge or guest-service experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet all customers in a warm, friendly manner and answer questions.
• Process tee-time reservations and collect golf fees; proactively sell merchandise.
• Account for cash and credit card transactions accurately.
• Maintain cleanliness and presentation of the golf shop daily.
• Assist in the snack bar and ensure proper equipment checkout when needed.
• Guide course ambassadors and promote proper golf etiquette.

Overview

The club attendant greets, interacts with, and checks in all customers and visitors entering the golf shop. This multi-faceted role supports daily golf shop operations and requires strong customer service, computer proficiency, and cash handling ability.

Experience Required

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in a retail environment.
• Golf course experience is preferred but not a pre-requisite.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
• Must have attention to detail.
• Knowledge of point-of-sale systems is helpful.
• Previous golf-related experience ideal.
• Previous guest service and cashier experience preferred.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
• Positive interpersonal skills required.
• Must be fluent in verbal and written English.
• Basic computer and typing skills are required.

Essential Responsibilities

• Greet all customers in a warm, friendly, and welcoming tone.
• Answer the phone and provide appropriate information to customers.
• Process tee time reservations, collect golf fees, and proactively sell golf merchandise.
• Accurately account for all credit card and cash handling transactions.
• Ensure the overall cleanliness and presentation of the golf shop is maintained daily.
• Ensure rental equipment is properly checked out and accounted for.
• Assist course ambassadors to ensure smooth operation and traffic flow on the course.
• Maintain a good understanding of the rules and regulations of golf and proper course etiquette.
• Assist in the snack bar area when needed.
• Drive golf carts and park them in the staging areas.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
