Job summary

Culper Technology is seeking a Cloud Test Engineer to join the Cyber Missions team, ensuring quality, reliability, and security of mission-critical cloud solutions on AWS. Lead testing efforts for applications and infrastructure, with emphasis on production readiness and mission requirements.

You will develop test plans, execute both manual and automated tests, and validate deployments using Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, and DevOps tools. U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical discipline.
• 5+ years of test engineering experience on complex programs.
• Experience developing test plans, cases, and automated suites.
• Strong troubleshooting and defect documentation skills.
• Experience with manual and automated testing in cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead testing for cloud-based applications and infrastructure.
• Perform configuration, functional, integration, and regression testing for AWS-hosted apps.
• Develop and maintain test plans, cases, and automated tests.

About the role

• We are seeking a Cloud Test Engineer to join our mission-driven Cyber Missions team, supporting the quality, reliability, and security of mission-critical cloud solutions. The ideal candidate will lead testing efforts for applications transitioning to or operating within AWS cloud environments, ensuring solutions are production-ready and meet mission requirements.

What you'll do

• Lead and execute testing efforts forcloud-based applications and infrastructure.
• Perform configuration, functional, integration, and regression testing for AWS-hosted applications.
• Develop, maintain, and executetest plans, test cases, and automated tests.
• Perform bothmanual and automated testingto validate software quality and performance.
• Validate application and infrastructure deployments usingTerraform, Kubernetes, Docker, and DevOps tools.
• Troubleshoot testing and automation issues while identifying root causes and corrective actions.
• Create and manage defect reports and collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams.
• Verify seamless integration and deployment into AWS production environments.
• Analyze test results and system performance to ensure reliable, scalable cloud solutions.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenshipwith an activeTS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
• 5+ years of Test Engineering experiencesupporting programs or contracts of similar scope and complexity.
• Bachelor’s degree inMathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Engineering Management, or a related technical discipline.
• Four additional years of Test Engineering experience may substitute for a bachelor's degree.
• Experience developing and maintainingtest plans, test cases, and automated test suites.
• Proficiency inmanual testing, test execution, and analyzing test results.
• Experience identifying, troubleshooting, and resolvingtest automation issues.
• Experience documenting defects and collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience withtest automation frameworks and tools.
• Experience withAWS cloud environments, Terraform, Kubernetes, and Docker.
• Familiarity withsoftware integration, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing practices.
• Knowledge ofweb technologies and databases.
• Experience designing and implementingautomated testing solutions.
• Ability to reproduce software defects, analyze system performance, and improve testing efficiency.
• Experience working in Agile and DevOps environments supporting cloud-native applications

The pay range for this role is:

130,000 - 145,000 USD per year (Annapolis Junction, MD)
