Job summary

Nasdaq is seeking a Systems Operations Specialist in New York or Toronto to ensure reliability and performance of mission‑critical platforms. You will monitor on‑prem, AWS, and Kubernetes (EKS), build cloud‑native capabilities with Terraform and GitLab CI/CD, and develop automation using Python, Bash, and PowerShell.

Collaborate with engineering teams and participate in 24/7 operations with rotating shifts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in technology or infrastructure operations.
• 4+ years of experience in systems or technical operations.
• Strong scripting and automation using Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Hands-on Linux administration, networking concepts and security best practices.
• Experience with Kubernetes (EKS) and AWS cloud services.
• Clear communicator and experience working in globally distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, maintain, and support production systems on‑premises, AWS, and Kubernetes (EKS).
• Design, implement, and deploy cloud-native platform capabilities using Terraform and GitLab CI/CD.
• Build automation tools with Python, Bash, and PowerShell for provisioning and workflows.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve issues and drive improvements.
• Respond to incidents, maintain high quality and effective communication across stakeholders.
