Abacus Technology seeks a Systems Engineer to provide technical support for the FAA in a full-time role based in Washington, DC. You will help deploy cloud infrastructure, integrate with existing systems, and implement automation scripts.

The position requires a US citizen, 5+ years in systems engineering, and a related degree. You will work with senior engineers, develop docs, monitor performance, and contribute to CI/CD and cost optimization.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of systems engineering experience with related field.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Science or related field.
• Certifications such as MCSE, ASEP or CSEP are strongly desired.
• Ability to troubleshoot high-level technical issues and document findings.

Responsibilities

• Support deployment of cloud infrastructure solutions under guidance of senior engineers.
• Assist integration of cloud systems with existing infrastructure and third-party services.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts for cloud provisioning using Bash, PowerShell, or Python.
• Monitor systems and perform basic troubleshooting; set up monitoring solutions.
• Escalate complex issues to senior engineers as needed.
• Assist in developing documentation for cloud systems and processes.
• Engage in continuous learning through training and workshops.
• Monitor cloud usage and costs and report findings for optimization.
• Support AI integration efforts within cloud architectures.
