Compensation hourly:

THE OPPORTUNITY
Our continued growth brings about an immediate need for an innovative and experienced Cloud Systems Administrator to join our growing team supporting a mission-driven federal client. This individual will be responsible for the daily administration and optimization of secure, scalable, and compliant cloud infrastructure. You will serve as the primary administrator across all cloud services and platforms, ensuring best practices are applied in design, engineering, operations, and continuous improvement

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Serve as the primary administrator and technical lead for all cloud-based infrastructure, including configuration, maintenance, monitoring, and performance tuning
  • Implement and enforce cloud architecture best practices, ensuring compliance with federal security guidelines such as NIST 800-37
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity and operations teams to monitor and improve cloud security posture
  • Manage and track incidents, changes, and enhancements following standardized O&M protocols
  • Leverage tools such as CrowdStrike and Qualys SIEM to design and report on qualitative and quantitative performance metrics
  • Perform root cause analysis of cloud-related incidents and implement corrective actions
  • Provide technical documentation and reporting to support audits, assessments, and continuous improvement efforts

WHAT YOU WILL BRING FOR SUCCESS

  • Strong experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP in a federal environment
  • Deep understanding of FISMA, NIST 800-37, and other applicable federal IT compliance requirements
  • Hands-on experience managing and monitoring SIEM tools, with a focus on:

Qualys SIEM:

  • Qualitative: Threat intelligence, security posture insights, incident response effectiveness
  • Quantitative: Log analysis, system performance, threat detection metrics
  • Qualitative: Risk-based insights, compliance monitoring, contextual threat analysis
  • Ability to manage cloud O&M processes with an emphasis on documentation, monitoring, and continual compliance
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, Azure Administrator Associate, or CompTIA Cloud+
  • Certifications preferred; Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Microsoft Purview and Microsoft Sentinel
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps and CI/CD pipelines in a secure cloud environment
  • Experience in federal government or public sector IT programs
