Job summary

Crusoe is building a modern cloud storage platform and seeks a Software Engineer I to join our team in San Francisco. This role focuses on developing high-performance storage services, learning from experienced engineers, and owning features with increasing independence.

You will contribute to distributed storage concepts, improve APIs, and participate in testing, deployment, and cross-team design discussions.

Qualifications

• Some hands-on experience building or operating software systems.
• Exposure to cloud infrastructure or distributed systems is a plus.
• Familiarity with core software engineering practices including testing and CI/CD.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Java or Go.
• Good communication and collaboration across teams.
• Growth mindset and willingness to learn storage systems quickly.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to Engineering Efforts: work with your team on cloud storage features and well-scoped pieces of larger projects.
• Software Development: write clean, maintainable code and participate in testing and rollout across the stack.
• Technical Contribution: participate in code reviews and architecture discussions to understand the broader system.
• Continuous Learning: grow technical skills through mentorship and collaboration.
• Cross-Team Collaboration: engage in team initiatives and open source exploration.
