Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Cupertino, CA is seeking a Storage Server Hardware Engineer to own fleet reliability across the deployed storage fleet.

You will perform failure analysis, component qualification, and root-cause correlation across interconnects, controllers, and power-loss protection circuits, driving permanent fixes and informing next-gen design. The role requires cross-team collaboration with firmware, software, and operations, and may entail travel to partner sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or equivalent.
• 2+ years hardware design, development and validation for servers or compute platforms.
• Experience in server tech: thermal/mechanical design, power delivery, high-speed signals, or accelerators.
• Experience developing functional specs, design verification plans, and validation tests.

Responsibilities

• Fleet Reliability & Failure Analysis: own fleet quality metrics post-launch and drive root-cause actions.
• Sustaining & Component Lifecycle: manage BOM variants across generations.
• Feed-Forward to Next Generation: translate failure patterns into requirements and test content.
• Validation & Debug: define and execute validation from PCBA bring-up to rack integration.
• Cross-Team Collaboration: work with service teams, datacenters, ODM/JDM partners, firmware, software and operations.
